THE ALASCO TURBULATOR

Alasco-Equine-THE ALASCO TURBULATOR

T-2 Alasco Turbulator
(Turbulator, hose, and fittings)
$75.00

This new turbulator unit comes complete with hose and fittings for easy air-compressor hook-up, and is designed to fit into a 20-quart “Little Giant” black rubber bucket. Research and testing have been done by Dr. Doug Herthel and staff at the Alamo Pintado Equine Center, Los Olivos, California, and by Dr. James Waldsmith and staff at the Edna Valley Veterinarian Center, San Luis Obispo, California. According to Dr. Herthel, “a mixture of peroxide and approximately 100-degree water for 10 - 15 minutes has proven especially effective in the treatment of Laminitis” as well as hoof and lower leg lesions and abscesses. Dr. Waldsmith’s staff reports the Alasco Turbulator “used in a proper mixture of water and Epsom salts or other additives, enhances lesion repair, reduces swelling, and eliminates abscesses.”

Dr. Herthel commented on other positive attributes of the turbulator in that “it is as good as, if not better than existing turbulators It is much more animal-friendly with its compact size, allowing the horse to be more relaxed during treatments.” And the Alasco product “is owner-friendly with easy set-up application and a much lower cost.” Dr. Herthel has and will continue to “recommend the Alasco Turbulator to clients.”

INSTRUCTIONS

The Alasco Turbulator is designed to fit into a 20-quart black rubber “Little Giant” bucket. Simply place the turbulator into the bottom of the bucket so the pattern of the turbulator matches the bottom pattern of the bucket. Insert with the smooth side of the turbulator up and the grooved side down. The air hose already connected to the turbulator extends out of the bucket, and is then coupled to your air compressor. Some horses are more “skittish” than others, so the use of additional hose will remove the air compressor a good distance from the turbulator bucket, and thereby reduce noise levels. Fill the bucket to approximately ¾ full with warm water. CONSULT YOUR LOCAL VETERINARIAN for optimal water temperature and for therapeutic product ratios to be added to best suit your animal’s needs. Insert horse’s hoof into the bucket. Turn on the compressor – 15 to 20 PSI creates adequate turbulation. CONSULT YOUR LOCAL VETERINARIAN for desirable length of each treatment (usually about 15 minutes) and the number of treatments each week for the most beneficial results.
